If you’ve watched or read the news anytime during the past two months, you’ve surely heard about the U.S. government’s request for Apple to unlock an iPhone. While this case has gotten more attention than most, the privacy and security of data is certainly not a new issue.

On Monday, April 11, David Snead, General Counsel at cPanel, will be participating in a Congressional summit on “Encryption: Balancing the Needs of Law Enforcement and the Fourth Amendment”. This event will be hosted at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy, and will feature expert testimony from several technology companies, a senior law enforcement official from Harris County and a Rice University professor.

At cPanel, the safety and security of the internet is one of our highest priorities, and encryption is one of the most reliable and trustworthy ways the internet is secured. This tool is used every day to keep not only our code safe but our customer’s data as well. We want to ensure that this tool remains available so our customer’s have the freedom to protect their data.

If you care about the security and protection of the internet’s future, join cPanel at this event, which is open to the public, to share your support for the future of a secure internet.
