We’ve pulled the cPanel mobile apps from the store, but retained these posts for historical accuracy

It’s probably safe to say, this is the first article about UI/UX that you have ever read that quoted Marilyn Monroe. cPanel has been at the forefront of the managed hosting business since its inception, and the changes that you are starting to see in WHM and cPanel ‘x4’ are just the beginning of the next step in not only maintaining that lead position, but more importantly, helping our customers and partners to move there as well.
According to Microsoft, by 2014 more than 50% of web traffic will be on mobile browsers. Mobile has been adopted by the mainstream faster than radio, television, color television, and the PC combined.
Some numbers to think over:
The current WHM, and cPanel x4 are steps toward that mobile web. During the last several cPanel conferences that I have attended, the question “Do you know how hard this is to use on my phone/tablet” has been an overwhelmingly consistent theme.
When you build a native app, you have an app for iOS or Android, or you have two apps, and a website. When done properly, as we are working toward with our software, you have a responsive user interface that works on iPhones, Androids, Blackberrys, tablets, and YES, even desktops.
What you are seeing roll out over the past few months, and more importantly what you will be seeing in the coming months is the UI department building that mobile friendly foundation that the future of cPanel and WHM will be built on. A responsive, flexible, and most importantly a more useable cPanel and WHM on any device, not just a desktop computer.
